HS2 is Britain’s new high-speed railway, which will halve the journey times between Birmingham and London to just 49 minutes. Once complete, the new high speed train line will free up the existing network to meet current passenger and freight demands, taking lorries off the road network. The new HS2 train will run on zero-carbon electricity helping with the governments strategy to decarbonise the rail network.
