Job Description

Due to an increasing number of business opportunities within Kirikiriroa/Hamilton, we are looking for a Construction Monitoring Engineer. You will be supported by our local, national, and international design teams who you will build key relationships with. Your ability to quickly understand the design concept and drivers, and translate these to the site team is a significant attribute that you will bring.

This role offers you the opportunity to apply both your knowledge of NZ construction practices, and passion for establishing and building on positive relationships with our design teams, contractors, clients, and other related stakeholders. You will work in a diverse and award-winning team on some of the most interesting infrastructure and community creation developments.
We know that the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to bring ideas to life:

  • Apply your significant experience in building practice to monitoring the construction of infrastructure and community creation developments across the Waikato region
  • Be a positive and effective communicator who builds strong relationships, sets clear expectations, and works with others to achieve success
  • Enjoy moving between multiple different sites and the office, working on a number of projects at any one time to solve problems, review design changes, coordinate RFI responses, and represent Aurecon at site meetings.
  • Manage quality control and inspections to ensure construction outcomes line up with design standards and local standards
  • Sharing your experience of working within New Zealand engineering codes, standards, and practices within your diverse team

We know today’s complex challenges can be solved only through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. As an established senior engineer, you will have a wide-reaching working relationship with clients in Kirikiriroa/Hamilton and the wider Waikato region, including Council.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 8 years of domestic experience - preferably some within the Waikato region - working on general civil, environmental, water, or land development design as well as the construction or contract management experience that comes with this, and you will be (or be very close to) a Chartered member of Engineering New Zealand. You'll have strong experience overseeing the construction of Land Development sites, including stormwater, water reticulation, waste water, roading, and bulk earthworks

Our client's attributes describe the types of people we bring together, and there will be at least one that resonates strongly with you. Because of this, we know that each of their team members brings something different to the business. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.

Does that sound like you?
