We have a newly created opportunity for an Associate Transport Planner to join Aurecon in Wellington. This role sits in our Transport team in Wellington and will see you leading a variety of key infrastructure projects and creating valuable solutions for transport both in Wellington and across New Zealand.

With significant projects like Let’s Get Wellington Moving, and more beginning soon, this is an exciting time to join the Aurecon team as you will be joining a team helping drive many of these projects forward.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’: 

  • Deliver services in strategic transport planning, transport modelling, capacity analysis, integrated land use planning, traffic assessment and design, public transport operations and city mobility planning.
  • Work collaboratively to lead integrated project teams and broader Aurecon teams
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
  • Build effective and enduring relationships across the transport industry, other Aurecon offices and external organisations.
  • Work closely with our Client Leaders and Directors to shape the future of our transport networks and infrastructure.

What can you bring to the team? 

  • In-depth experience in active transport and public transport planning.
  • A proven technical background in the development of strategic plans, masterplans, business case development and small, medium, and large development transport assessments.
  • A passion for providing technical guidance and support and an interest in asking WHY?
  • Demonstrated skills in project management leadership, including resourcing, financial, risk and safety, client, and information management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support team management and interactions with key external stakeholders through client relationship development activities. 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
